IDENTIFY YOUR VEHICLE
Nissan: model and year first
Altima, Sentra, Rogue, Pathfinder, Murano, Frontier and Titan: provide the full year and model. A Nissan key-number tag, if you still have it, is also useful information to mention.
How your Nissan key visit works
1 / Identify
Describe door-button operation, remote-button operation and starting as three separate observations.
2 / Prepare
Identify the Nissan year and model and gather all remaining keys or key-number information.
3 / Agree
We check the supported replacement and registration requirements, then confirm access, authorization and price.
4 / Verify
Test each agreed key with the vehicle and review which remotes remain in use.
Nissan key details worth checking
Bring every remaining Intelligent Key
Nissan’s owner guidance says that key registration can involve the stored key memory and recommends having all existing Intelligent Keys available. Tell us which remotes you still possess, including ones that work intermittently. We confirm what should be present for the supported procedure on your vehicle.
A key-number plate is not the remote itself
Keep a Nissan key-number plate safely outside the car if you have one. Nissan states that it does not record these numbers. Whether the tag is available is worth mentioning, but it does not remove the need to establish ownership or confirm the electronic system.
Nissan key questions
Can a Nissan remote need attention even if the blade opens the door?
Yes. Mechanical access, remote-button operation and electronic starting authorization are different functions.
Will replacing the fob battery necessarily fix a Key System warning?
No. Report the exact message and whether another registered key works; a battery change is not a diagnosis of the whole system.

Plan the right next step
What affects a locksmith quote? Key type, remaining working keys and the work required should be clarified before you approve the visit.
If the key is locked inside, describe that before ordering a replacement.
